I actually had to check the date of the article just to make sure it wasn't an April Fool's Day prank or something. (It's not incidentally!)

Its a joke, right? There are so many other ways to use a watch to honor/commemorate the Airborne or VF-103 and VF-84. Looks like something you would wear on Halloween.

Sorry to say, but if it was reasonably priced for the fashion market... like under $1000 US and it was a LE, I might like to have one. I dont think its an everyday type of thing but it is unique. Reminds me (vaguely) of the Bubble Bat concept from, Corum.

Well they are LEs (though 500 may be optimistic). As for the Corum comparison - very apt - they were butt ugly and can be had for cents on the dollar now because no one wants them too.

I've been posting elsewhere about how much I like the B&R instrument series, but let's just say this one is not on my hitlist...

Bronco is spot-on with the Corum comparison - I recall a thread (I think it was Driver8's) where something not dissimilar was being discussed.

So that's what the Somali Pirates spend their ransom money on!

It's like awful is it out of a Christmas Cracker?

RRP is £3,800

Reminds me of a "glow in the dark" plastic ring I got free with a comic when I was about 10.

I find it hard to believe VFA-103 would put their name to this.

It's a weird choice for B&R considering their adherance to the "instrument" feel on the rest of their pieces. It's like something Captain Jack Sparrow might wear if he ever took to the skies!

I agree there is a certain similarity with the Corum Bubble Privateer, although in defence of the Corum it was always designed to have a certain sense of theatre about it. It was never dressed up to be a serious piece to honour a great military unit. And it didn't glow in the dark like a sticker for a childs bedroom ceiling!
