Post subject:  Garinin Watch winders

I know that a few people have got these on here, but, will they work here in the UK if i get a 240v power supply adaptor?
What is the output voltage of the suplied adaptor?
I've read the report and they seem, for the money, very good winders. Anyone else any experience of them?

Thanks in advance guy's.

I dislike plastic mounts for my winders. I like a soft pillow, so I will never get one of them... but reliable and quiet? Sure sounds like it!

I bought the dual winder based upon reviews that I've read here and on other sites. Bottom line, I don't really care for it and I'm not using it at the moment. I don't like the cheap feel of the winder and the plastic holders that Nelson mentioned - I know it IS a cheap winder, I'm just saying how I feel and you can decide if you can live with it for the price.

I also don't like the fact that the winder turns constantly; no matter how quiet it is, I can still hear it pretty well late at night. Good thing the winder is all the way across the room, or it would be really annoying. My Orbitas, by contrast, run just enough to turn the cup upside down (not more than a few seconds) and the watch and cup swing freely and silently after that. My Sharper Image winders are completely silent, as advertised.

The final nail in the coffin for me is that the slow turning of the Garinin won't keep all my watches wound. Both my TAG Aquagraph and Sinn U1 stopped while on the winder, only my Chrono Avenger keeps going while on the Garinin.

In the end, I bought the Garinin because it was cheap and I had run out of winders. Now that I've sold off my TAG Aquagraph, winders are not a problem and I can stick the Garinin in the closet. This is most definitely a case of "you get what you pay for".
