Gosh...... humble-pie time AGAIN! At work in a meeting today I noticed that a guy I know had a brand new Rolex Sea Dweller Deepsea on, so after the meeting we were chatting away and I managed to persuade him to let me try it on. (I had to let him try on my 6.75 in trade, but I guess it was only fair! ![]() Anyway I must be honest, but I really liked it! ![]() ![]() With my IWC BP, and desire for a Panerai 270 and a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, these "reinventions" of classic models are really appealing to me, so I guess this Deepsea kind of drops into that category for me too....... or something! So there we are - I didn't think it'd happen, but there is now officially a Rolex out there that I like! |

I'm starting to worry about you ![]() That's the nicest Rolex to me by a long way, but I can't see myself buying one - or asking to try one on to be honest. I certainly appreciate it for what it is though. |

Had opportunity to handle it and it's quite nice IMHO, only the bracelet width and taper ratio underrate the whole package. |

I just cant get over the strong taper of the bracelet. So much so that the smaller GMT or Sub's look better te me, because of the proportional balance. |

I had the Deep Sea in my hands a few days back as well & was seriously considering purchasing from my AD as the price (20%) off was nice for a Rolex but I also did not like the tapered band. Very nice adjustable clasp on band & secure feeling when turning the bezel. Nice piece just not for me... ![]() |

I agree Driver, nicest Rolex out there, though the GMT Master IIc is a close contender. Right now trying to decide between a Deepsea and a Big Pilot, they are both about the same price, I think I like the BP a bit more due to the movement and the finish, but it is too similar to my BI so I would want a change right now. |
