Hey, Driver, After two weeks, my Ingenieur has gained just 10 seconds!  True,it's just sitting here on the desk, crown up, waiting for the day... but that's pretty damn impressive, don't you think? Now I know why IWCs have the rep of being among the most accurate mechanicals. By the way, how's that BP of yours doing? Can it match the Inge in accuracy? I must be honest but I've not been tracking mine to the atomic clock, but I'll do it this weekend and post a report of how it gets on. I've certainly not noticed anything untoward, so I'm guessing it's pretty good, but we shall see! Just incidentally, did you know that IWC's aren't Chronometer rated because they believe that a watch should NEVER be allowed to be slow. Hence they consider -4 to +6 to be too inaccurate (  ), so they make sure their watches are within 0 to +7 seconds!

I did not know that, Driver, but it makes sense. In fact, I've often wondered why brands like IWC, Patek, VC, A. Lange & Sohne, et. al don't make a big deal about chronometer accuracy. My theory is that their movements are so meticulously made that there's really no need to prove their accuracy. Any thoughts? The reason I like them to be certified is because you kind of have something to go off of like when you need to get it regulated. And you know there is a problem and your "fight" with Breitling is that its not within the set requirements. I mean if you think about it IWC, Patek etc could tell you no +27secs an hour is okay we dont have guidelines. Not that they would but just a thought

Not that they would but just a thought Well the guidelines for IWC (0/+7secs) is on their website and if you only ever get a watch regulated by the original manfacturer (like I do) they'll know what the approved tolerances are. |
