just taking a quick glance on the bay today and noticed an orbiter emergency on there. my question is as i looked at som pics the serial number was all whited out in the warranty book. plus it was written over? can anyone explain? why this would be needed to be done.

Some people prefer it that way to harden fakers.

i see so its not a ploy to exchange warranty books for the watch they r selling.

Some sellers don't like to give potential fakers or replica makers access to legitimate serial numbers. However it is possible that a not so reputable seller would do the same, claiming that his reasons are as those of above.

If you are interested in the watch be sure that in one on one dealings with the seller that he discloses the numbers and that those numbers match.

It's easy enough to find serial numbers when needed. Unless it's a new release of course. Personal preference/paranoia is my guess ;)

If I understand correctly, you are saying the card has actual white-out on it and has new writing on top of the white-out, right? Seems like the above comments are referring to the serial whited out via photoshop.

rj you are correct, thats what i was seeing, whiteout and blue pen written over it. just seemed shady to me.

oh I was thinking it was done by photoshop. If its done on the actual card with white out and blue pen over that I wouldnt touch it with a ten foot pole :poke:

Sorry I mis-understood as well. I thought we were talking about photoshop and not actual physical whiteout.
I agree. I would run-run hard and fast and not look back. I can't think of a legitimate reason to do that other than to fake documentation for a questionable watch.

yeah thats what i was thinking, falsify the card is not a good thing to be involved with. i would never buy from the web anyway, but its nice to see whats out there and how many cheats are out there too.
