I just had to share this with you guys. Some of you will know that I discovered Louis Moinet thanks to admin's post in this thread - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=12445

Well, I took a look at the North American website - www.lmtime.com and found some watches that definitely met my desire for 'different' watches and at prices that are a lot more sensible than some of the other things that I have been considering - yes they have a $1,000,000 watch, but they also have pieces to compete with mid range Breitlings on price - and they are all low production LEs, often with in house movements.

I reached out to them to learn a little more and let me say that I am absolutely blown away by their customer service. I know that they are still a small company, particularly in North America, but I was given personal e-mail and phone numbers for the North American president and I can personally attest that he is extremely responsive.

There are a lot of watch companies competing for attention in a very difficult market, and this kind of customer service really makes a company stand out - and when I compare with some of the frustrations that I had with the likes of Romain Jerome earlier this year it makes Louis Moinet look even better. The watches might not be for everyone, but they have completely convinced me - now it's just a matter of which one and when!

I know that the likes of Breitling are too big to be able to maintain the same level of service, but it would be nice if they did occasionally let their hardcore collectors know that they were appreciated........

Very nice watch brand. I like the work they do with the dials. Someday maybe,,,,, Thanks for the link.

Best Mark

Wow! A very magical, mystical look to some of the pieces. Some remind me of the Gevril series of watches, another brand which is quite fanciful in design. I believe Birks in Canada are the only official dealer:
http://www.gevril.com/
I believe that all of their pieces are limited editions as well. They have a few in stainless steel for around 3 to 4 grand, at one point I was very tempted. They are a very big fit on the wrist.
Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, my favourite LM is around 12 grand, so out of reach for me.
cheers,
Carl

Me too. There was an article on LM in one of the US magazines a while ago (think it was IW) and I remember them catching my eye.
