Hey guys, I'm hoping to get a few options from your opinions on this...I'm looking for a rugged watch...something I can go to the gym with, run, play tennis, etc...Something that would look good on a rubber type strap...something that doesn't ding or scratch to easy... and of course, something that doesn't cost and arm and a leg (I know how much they cost and they ain't cheap ![]() I know it's asking alot...In my mind the Black SA LE style, but no way close to that type of price tag. It's sad when you want to take pride in a stylish beater! ![]() Throw out some options there guys! |

Super Ocean Steelfish. Rugged, stylish, and looks great on rubber. Other choices would be the Avenger Seawolf or if you prefer a full polished case the Super Ocean. Those are what I would consider in your position anyway. |

Depends what you consider to be spending an arm and a leg. Are you after something quartz for under $500, or do want something a bit fancier? If it's the former, you could consider a Luminox. I've got an Evo Navy Seal which has kind of a Blacksteel look (although I think mine is a Japan-only LE which is only available in Japan). I've also just bought one of these, which would fit the bill nicely for running, gym etc: http://www.casio-intl.com/wat/g_shock/giez/gs-1010.html I know there are vastly differing opinions about G-Shocks, but when you say durable and rugged they certainly spring to mind, and this one has an analog dial and is a bit more stylish than usual (if you ask me, anyway). |

I prefer the brushed ss or some sort of coated ss I guess...nothing polished really.. Arm and a leg cost..I guess that depends really...something with a max of $1,200 or so...seeing as how I'd love for this to be a keeper of a watch...something I love to wear but also I'm not afraid of it being abused a little.. If I can't come up with a perfect match, then i'd really like to keep the cost on the cheap. Make sense? I really am not a fan of the G-shock watches or others that type.. I have looked at the Luminox models, but I have not really clicked with them. I appreciate the leads guys...this may be my most difficult find! ![]() |

In that case (and I know this gets suggested repeatedly here, including by me), perhaps an Oris of some sort? |

What about a Chrono Avenger M1 Ti on the Black rubber strap? Wondering how the Ti would hold up? I hear it is easy to get scuffs out of it with a scotch pad and it would be light for the activities and quartz? I like the size and rugged look... Your thoughts? Not sure what they would run me second hand... |

Re: the Avenger M1 ...After doing a little searching, these can be had for a pretty good deal...the only thing I do notice is that they tend to be beat up looking pretty early on...I thought the Ti was supposed to be pretty tough... |

I just picked one of these up for a beater. Decent watch size and the case is matt. A cert chronometer new for under 700.00 Us. it wears well at 43mm even for me with 8" wrists. The watchseller is a awesome site to buy from. Just a thought,, http://www.watchseller.com/volmasfliegp1.html |

Have a look at the Sinn U1 or U2, I *think* they can be had within your budget on rubber but dont quote me on that due to currency fluctuations. Something a bit different, German made with a tegimented case treatment that seems to be very hard to scratch or dent. Love em or hate em looks tho' probably. |
