A perpetual movement, with an 8 day power reserve and a skeletonised dial - I'm thinking that I absolutely must have this watch!!!

Now the small problem of the cost..........

List for gold is $95,000 - only $6k more for platinum, but I'd prefer gold.

Rich uncle where are you?????

Yeah, but the problem is before ever I got to the point that I would have that to spend on a watch I would have bought something else (have you seen how much watch you can get for the money with a Romain Jerome............)

Agreed Roff, this and the new A Lange perpetual chrono are my two favorite "will never be able to afford yet still hopefull" watches.

I guess you have the JLC catalogue now then Roff? :) I saw that beauty in there myself, but didn't have a price as JLC have neglected to send me the price list twice now!

As fantastic as it is, that's Lotto win territory only. I'd need to have bought literally everything else in life before I even started to think about it.

That's a beautiful watch Roffensian, pricey though :(

Funnily enough I was actually at my AD today looking at watches and he highlighted JLC as timepieces that are well regarded and hold their value. I haven't had a chance to browse through the catalogue as of yet but am impressed with those I have seen before.

What's the forum's consensus on JLC?

Before getting a catalogue I always thought they were a little on the dressy side, a little on the small side, and not really for me. However, after getting the catalogue I have a serious respect for them..... and found 3 models that I'd really like to own!

All their movements are in-house and they apparently make 40 different types! Looking at the fantastic catalogue there really is something for everyone in their range...... provided you have the cash. Cheap they are not!

My personal favourite is the Master Compressor Extreme World Alarm - amazing piece of kit with a fully mechanical alarm system. Swiftly followed by the Master Compressor Diving Pro Geographic with the fully mechanical depth gauge. The 3rd I like is the slightly more traditionally styled Master Compressor Extreme World Chronograph.

Simply put, JLC are fantastic IMO.

Yeah JLC are amazing. I've known for a while that I wanted one, I just kept changing my mind on which one. This one's amazing, but I'm not going to spend that on a watch - not for a few years anyway.

I have noticed in the last couple of years that my willingness to spend money on a watch has increased - pieces that two years ago I would have discounted out of hand due to price are now getting some serious consideration, but there are just too many nice watches out there :!:

If Breitling doesn't wow me at Basel I may do something a little unexpected - we'll see.

Me too.... but certainly not into the $95k territory! For me it's more watches up to £10K that would get (and are getting) some serious consideration. For example there's a Panerai 270 out there with my name on it at some point.
