Need some help with this one. This watch is a tank, I have scratches on the fixed lugs at 11 and 1 and at 5 and 7. The scratches are most likely from the lugs next in line. I've tried the cape cod clothes on them but it has zero effect, probably because the watch is polished titanium. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

not sure if i am correct but i dont think you should use cape cod on Ti..i was warned of this a while back.could be wrong though |

Titanium is much harder to polish than stainless steel.. you will probably have to break out the dremel and polishing compound for the Ti. I've tried turning a brushed Titanium watch into Polished, and it was difficult to say the least.. i never finished the job. |

Yes, the dremel is a worthwhile and amazing machine. Take a look at the 10.8V cordless ones and don't forget to pick up an extended polishing kit and the proper compounds.

Just pop into your local Sears. My setup was something like $90 with extra kits and compounds etc. You can get the stuff online as well but the savings probably wouldn't be worth the trade-off in wait. |

Hey guys, I had the Carlos Coste Chrono for over a year of regular use. When it came time to sell it, I polished it up using a cape cod cloth with no problem, and it looked like new when I was done. I had no issues polishing Ti with the Cape Cod, maybe took a bit longer, but was certainly do-able without a dremel. Dremel, or any motorized polisher, must be used with extreme caution, as things happen fast. You can easily polish away corners and remove case lines if you are not careful. I would seriously consider trying the cape cod cloth by hand first before you go at a $1500 watch with a dremel and no experience. These were the sale pics... excuse the dust, but you get the idea.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I think I will try my Cape Cod clothes one more time with a lot more effort and if still no avail, then to Sears I go. |
