After selling my PAM and Fortis, I had a nice little pot'o'funds in paypal, which I should have transferred into the bank account, but before I was able to do it, I succumbed to the lure of this watch... http://www.omegawatches.com/index.php?id=932

I have never been interested in any Omega's, I couldn't explain why, they just didn't move me... until I saw this particular model and variation. 45.5mm and heavy thick bracelet... and one for sale on TZ with cosmetic issues and a killer price... I couldn't resist as I can refinish cases pretty well. :?

Did I do a bad thing?

p.s. I did put the remainder of the funds in the account, so I don't feel too guilty. :) Image

Dude, if it calls to you, you have the $$$, go for it. No guilt. You know you won't keep it very long anyway. :P :P

Bonedoc... you sure you are not a shrink?? You seem to have figured out my buying habits pretty quickly :) I am trying very hard to buy watches that I will keep long term... like the Hercules, in fact all the lings. This Omega has alot going for it, but I was feeling like I cheated on the Breitling family.

We'll see...

:guns: Mark, You shouldn't feel guilty at all about buying a Planet Ocean.
I've had mine about two years and I still marvel at its beauty and rugged
simplicity. Oh yeah, the PO gets along quite well with my Breitlings...they
don't fight at all when they're left in the same drawer. :) Enjoy it!

Yeah, for the same reason the US does not fight with Luxembourg (aside from neutrality). Because the Ling would kick the omega's A$$! Sorry, had to say it. Others were thinking it. C'mon, you KNOW you were.

Bonedoc,

The reason both brands get along so well is they have mutual respect
for each others strengths and design elements. Your analogy of the
United States vs Luxembourg (or whatever it was) is way off the mark.
More like the US vs China. Or to put in another way: Both watches
are ass kickers! :)

Very nice Mark! This is one of my favorite watches. I went to an AD not that long ago to look at the non chrono PO with the orange bezel and they had this one, So I HAD to try it on.....Fell in love! ...Until I saw the price.
Glad you found a deal!
Congrats!

Congrats on a great choice. My non chrono PO is one of my favorite and most worn watches. If you decide it is not for you then you can always sell it without taking too bad a hit. Enjoy.

No, you definitely did the right thing! But then I would say that, wouldn't I? :)

I've got the non-chrono version in the same colours, and I love it. As I've said elsewhere, I think it's the most versatile watch in my collection. It was the one I took overseas with me recently for that reason.
