Hello everyone i am new here. I am looking for stainless steel watch in price range 1000-1100$ for used ones. I really dig Breitling, but i am lost in all those models. :( I also like Tag Heuer. The most import thing for me is reliability of watch and the quality of them. I fully understand that they are all awesome, but i have too choose only one. I am interested in something like these - viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7242, but i think they are sold and i am late. Anyway i'll be glad to see some suggestions here.

Thanks!

Well, first off let me tell you that Driver8's Steelfish was priced VERY low (only becasue of the lack of the paperwork) so you will be pretty hard pressed to find one under $1500, on a strap. If you want the best bang for the buck.. a Steelfish is it. Save up a little longer and get one, you wont regret it. (trust me I have 2). Any Breitling that is fairly new is going to easily surpass your budget. An older model might be had at that price but it may be either well worn or need a servicing from Breitling ($400-800). You can wade through the different models at Breitling.com

Now if you are hard set on the $1100 top mark, I would suggest an eBay search for Oris. They make really reasonable watches and are great watches. I have been looking at several different models. They offer everything you want (complications, fancy dials, nice bracelets or straps, display case backs and reliability) I would say thier quality is a bit above Tags.

You might be able to find a used Superocean for your price range or a Colt Auto.

Yes the Steelfish is an excellent value both new and used, especially Driver8's

As the guys said, save up and watch the sales corner, never know what might come up!

Assuming you're wanting a Breitling, you should be able to find either a Colt or even a SuperOcean within your budget if you are patient.

http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_details/Aeromarine_99.html

Otherwise, an Omega SeaMaster Pro may just be within your reach but take care as there are lots of fakes about.

If you don't mind smaller watches, a Rolex 6694 is also within your budget. Not a dive watch though.

Yeah alright guys don't rub it in!

I probably could've squeezed a bit more out of the price given the current exchange rate to the US, but I put the discount down to my penance for making such a daft error as losing the papers!

The guys have given great advice on used Breitlings, but I have to agree with BroncoSport here to look at Oris if the Breitlings aren't matching your likes and budget. This price will get you into some new Oris and certainly 'near new' on much of the range. I would take an Oris over a Tag every time, but that's personal preference.

Of course I would take Breitling over Oris!

Good luck and let us know what you decide.

:yeahthat Not sure if some of the 2007 models can still be found at ADs as new old stock, but you might be able to pick one up with quite a discount on it, as some ADs are looking to move stock around this time of year to bring in the newer models.

Thanks for suggestion guys! I've decided to raise budget to 2k. I've found Breitling Chrono Superocean i fell in love instantly. I did some research and it seem that 2k is a legit price for used Breitling Chrono Superocean with black dial (which i prefer). I've heard thousands of times that 99% watch on used market are fake and so on. http://cgi.ebay.com/Breitling-Superocea ... dZViewItem - do you think that these are ok? Is it common to counterfeit papers and so on? I will appreciate any help with that. Thanks!

From thsoe photos I can't tell anything - it looks like a genuine warranty book, but not necessarily from that watch. Also the seller doesn't have much feedback. I would ask for a clear picture of the dial and a clear picture of the serial number on the back of the watch and the warranty book.

If he can't provide those then I'd pass.

Like Roff said. Pic with SN on both warranty and caseback. As well as pics that actually let you see the darn watch. Ask him to remove the vaseline from the lens or something, geez!! :?

I've asked for better photos. Is clear pics of papers and serial on watch (both matching of course) enough? I've read FAQ on main page and there is tons of stuff about counterfeits. I got a bit paranoid, cause i can't clearly figure that much out when buying online. Would you go for it just with pics of papers and serials on watch?

I've also emailed this guy http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0367965684. Still no answer tho.

It is enough. Just post some photos when you'll get them.
On ebay auction is genuine CSO but there's no papers on the photos.
It might be that seller doesn't know the right way to sell a watch or there's no papers.
