Yes you most definitely should. Go and do it now.

I prefer the black dial but it's hard to go wrong with any IWC. Roff may not agree with that last statement but I predict he will endorse the one you're looking at. :)

Yes, I think it is very classic looking. I have a trade in progress for a Pilot chrono and have been reading up on this brand, Very, well built and respected. I like them very much.

If it's a good price, then go for it Taffy!

Personally the Portuguese is not my favourite IWC, but I love the brand and definitely want to add one to my collection in 2009............ if I can.

£2k?? buy it now (if from a reputable source). i've seen far older ones go for £3k. beware though because there are some amazing fakes knocking about- the kind that only pro watch makers will be able to distinguish as even the movement has iwc printed on it.

i tried on one of these a few weeks back and was impressed. even though it was pretty light i liked the way the dial was so close to the edge of the bezel. v nice and v classy.

buy it now.. i have the same one..

the one picture is the older production with embossed and not applied numerals, a different design on the crown and subtle differences in the movement (slower beat rate).. not that it really makes a diff

How old would that make the watch then? I was told it was 8 months old. I know it could have been sat in the AD for a while before being sold :?:

i think just a few years but i'm not sure. the production number should be 2xxxxxx. it's possible that it sat around. i would be sure to get someone to inspect the movement to be sure. the replicas out now are copies of the older production. but if it's from a reputable source and all the paperwork matches, i should be good?

here is a picture of mine, which is the newer production:

you can see that the 2 and 4 numerals are different.

See, I take 24 hours off and the world goes to pot.

I am ashamed of you taffytoon - that is not the kind of question I expect from you - the answer is as clear as the nose on your face - do I really have to tell you to buy one of the most iconic IWCs ever made?

Jeez, some people!

In case it's not obvious - HECK YEAH!
