Interesting article here, https://deployant.com/breaking-news-jae ... y-program/ I absolutely love JLC watches and with a 8 year warranty I see a future shift in the watch fund allocation. IMO hard not to like the brand! Thoughts anyone? Will 8 years become the new norm?

That would be a huge deal for me. I've always loved JLC, who have a reputation as the watchmaker's watchmaker and for providing perhaps more horological bang per buck than anyone out there. But the after-sale reputation, at least here in UK, since the Richemont takeover, has been diabolically bad - high costs, long delays, ineffectual repairs. There are certainly lots of people who say they wouldn't buy a JLC watch now, in the Richemont era, so I think this would make a huge difference to customer confidence.

This is impressive news.

Sadly, however, this news comes 2 weeks too late for my Master Calendar -- otherwise, I'd be eligible for a 6-year extension!

Not necessarily ... I note that the opening post on this thread

https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.php? ... ultre-(JLC)-new-8-year-warranty!

says that "Existing watches with the 2 International warranty are also eligible for an extension."

I think Jim means that his two year warranty just expired 2 weeks ago.

I think this is awesome and hopefully it ups the industry standard for warranty work. I wish more Brands would offer 2 year warranty after service instead of a one year as well

Very impressive indeed!

Patek really need to get with the program here. 2 Years is laughable!
