I received an invitation from VC to attend “an exclusive event” in Dubai on Wednesday. The agenda seems interesting and since it includes first class tickets and five star lodging at the Mandarin Oriental as well as a chance to attend a watch related event I agreed to go, though I have this nagging feeling it’s going to be 24 hours of pressure to buy extremely expensive watches!

I will update you guys with pictures and details.

I just saw that the event includes a unique piece demonstration. The plot thickens...

I have to say that I was very impressed by the VC event. Very relaxed yet quite luxurious and high end, amazing food and watch discussions as well as some truly amazing pieces.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words:

All in all an amazing trip. The Dubai Mandarin Oriental was fantastic. Talk about being charmed off your feat. Hats off to Vacheron!

I have quite a few pictures of the unique pieces, might post them later if there’s enough interest. I could not afford them but I did leave with one watch firmly in my crosshairs: the almighty Traditionelle Perpetual Chronograph :

Yes fantastic watch Fred, much more so in person. I am trying to decide if I should save up and get it in 2019, or wait one more year and get the Patek 5270p.

The VC combines their unbelievable PC complication and the legendary Lemania chrono, which I don’t and have never owned. Plus that Moonphase!

The Patek is fully in house. But I do own their new chrono caliber is dress format. And it is quite a bit more expensive....

Then again I can just go with a guilty pleasure watch and get the platinum Daytona with Eastern Arabic numerals and enter into full pimp mode!
