Ok ---I have an oppurtunity to trade for an IWC Pilot chrono as mentioned before. A new deal has come my way for my same watch. A Chopard black dial LUX 2000 in decent shape w/papers. I relize that the Chopard is a much more expensive piece but it is only 40mm and a simple complication. I like to wear my watches and the Lux wouldn't get much wrist time. Any feed back? |

It's a no brainer for me - the IWC. I don'ty know much about Chopard, in large part because they have never interested me, but in this case I think you answered your own question - you wouldn't wear it very much. I would only consider the Chopard if you thought that you could then trade / sell that for something that you do want more than the IWC Pilot, and of course that's a risk. |

Thanks guys, It is a no brainer. I guess I thought the Chopard would be a good trader. I like the IWC. Solves that... |

I guess you need to differentiate between a "WATCH BRAND" and a "JEWELRY BRAND" and the you would have answered your question. While a Cartier is a Great watch - they also make rings, pens and perfumes! While The Chopard is a good watch - they also make handbags and ties! Mont Blanc is a Writing Instrument Company - now making watches and eyewear and perfumes... While the Breitling, Panerai, Omega, IWC are all great watches - THAT'S ALL THEY MAKE - watches! You get the picture... |

Another belated (and perhaps slightly biased) vote for the IWC here. Look forward to seeing the pics. ![]() |
