hello all!,

So jaeger le coutre.... i have recently started getting into them, the master compressor range particularly.

I briefly looking at one in my local AD today and am going back to take another look tomorrow to learn a little bit about it.

Its gunna cost about 5k witch is allot of anyones money, so my question is what would you guys spend that much on, i no there are a few watch nuts on here ( )so i just wanted to get your opinion.

This is the one im looking at:

Click on stainless steel , leather and 1758470

They've really caught my eye too. Quality movements and great finish.

I like the look of the one you're looking at. I'm no expert on them but 5k doesn't sound too bad. I assume you're talking pounds. If it was $5k I'd probably be asking you to get me one.

So yes, I would spend that much on one.

JLC make some very impressive watches. They've been on my list for a while, just never high enough to seriously be considered for the next purchase. I think that's largely because I have expensive tastes - I like the Master World Geographic, the Master Eight Days, the Master Grande Reveil and the Master Grande Memovox. Of course the tourbillon's not too shabby either.

The Reverso's don't do it for me - I find it too much of a gimick, but the Master Compressor is a very nice watch. As siglo vi says, I've not seen the Chronograph quite as low as $5k - list on strap is around $10k, but they are definitely quality pieces.

the compressor/amvox series are cool but i have to say i also prefer the more classic looking JLC's.. the duometre is stunning

I understand you - I've also been looking very closely to the Master Compressors lately, and I think they're great. Me wants one - just have to find the funds.

they will hopefully release the duometre in solid steel once they've sold enough of the gold ones.. that would be something to look for. they did the same thing with one of the 8 days where the gold ones comes out first
