Hi everyone

I have a DPW quartz watch in a Breitling case ref 80210, The crown has broken away from the stem and I am having trouble finding anyone to fix/replace, each time I have been told that only Breitling could do the work? I find this strange as it is not a Breitling and highly doubt they would consider looking at it. Could anybody advise the best course of action to take?

Regards

Danny

Any independent watchmaker should be able to order the parts, they are probably assuming it is a Breitling based on the case. Breitling will refuse to touch it.

That's what I thought Roff, I guess I need to ID the quartz movement. I am assuming it will not be Breitling? There is so little information on these DPW watches.

It won't be Breitling.

The DPW ref 80210 is a Breitling Colt/Maritime and uses the same Breitling movement. You can argue that these quartz movements didn't actually come from Breitling and be correct but they are the same used by Breilting in these early Colts. They are relatively inexpensive, and common, so just pick up another one for parts.
