Post subject:  Aftermarket deployant clasp
Does anyone know of anywhere that sells a high-quality aftermarket deployant clasp for use with straps?

It's for a mate of mine who wants to get a strap made by ABP for a Bell & Ross, so as the strap hasn't been made yet he's not bothered about the type of fitment - he just wants rid of the OEM tang and buckle clasp. As it's for a B&R he ideally doesn't want one branded with another manufacturers logo, so an unbranded one would be preferred....... or else I would've said use a Breitling strap deployant or an OR clasp.

Polished or brushed is fine, but must be steel and must be high quality - not the rubbish cheapo versions you find on the Bay.

Must be either 22mm or 24mm. (Again it doesn't matter as the strap hasn't been made yet).

Any help appreciated guys! :thumbsup:

Don't know of the quality, but ABP also supply deployants - I'm assuming good quality.

Was looking at getting one to replace the stock Oris deployant with wifeys strap that she wants ordered.

Hmmm, just had a look on ABP and seems that they only offer buckles, not deployants...... unless I'm just being hard of brain and not looking in the right place.

It depends on the leather you choose - they are options C and D for buckles I believe. I guess they can't do it for all leather types.

Okey dokey, I'll have another play around..... although I'm pretty sure he's not going to want something like Salmon skin on his B&R so we'll have to hope deployants are available on the leather he wants.

They are also very responsive to e-mails - so you can always drop them a line and ask which ones they can do.

The Watchprince has a good butterfly deployant that works with a regular strap. I have a few and have had good luck with them.

There are generic Panerai-style butterfly deployants on ebay that are pretty good quality. I've seen them on a friend's watch that he wanted to use OEM Panny straps on and it looks great. The only catch is that they way they are designed it has to be a fairly thin strap just like the Panerai OEM ones designed for Deployant in order to get them onto the buckle.

Here are some of the ones I am talking about:

Thanks Admin - I actually came across a place in the States selling a clasp that looks identical to this (i.e. an unbranded Pannie-a-like) for $34! :shock: Could be a decent buy.

Rather than making another, I am bringing this back to life. My wrist is small to the point that a single fold deployant doesn't work very well and the Breitling OEM is rather 'sharp', but most aftermarket ones I have tried suck. Thus far, this get the nod...

I have one for my vintage Chronomatic. It's on a 19/16 Horween tan leather. Works rather well. Not too bad for 40 bucks.

You may think I am crazy since this is $7 and doesnt have a push-lock, but IMO this is one of the most comfortable I've found this far... (and stupidly cheap). I've bought a ton of cheapies and this far this one has really impressed me all around.
