The new sport collection is very very cool, especially for a company like Longines: http://www.timeway.eu/Longines-GrandeVitesse-II Can anybody tell me where and how much is that brown Vitesse model going to be? I NEED one of those. |

The Grande Vitesse II is nice! I really liked the Clous de Paris when I tried it on... I love the way the case looks, and not very expensive either! |

Thats good news! How much did you see it? I cant find any info online or from my AD. Looks really sweet. if its around 2000 USD I am getting one no dought. |

I don't remember the price on the Grande Vitesse, I didn't like it enough to want to buy it. I thought it was a bit of a Tag Heuer Carrera look alike. The Clous de Paris was something like $1900 though. I wouldn't think the Grand Vitesse would be much more than $2500 or $3000 at the most. |

I do like Tag so it makes sense I would like the Vitesse. 3000 American is way too much for a Longines, at that price point there is a certine Breitling I would rather get. |

Agreed, but I have a hard time with value of Longines. The accuracy figures they quote are really not great (I assume that movements are unmodified) and the prices are starting to get to the point where you can get decent chronometers. Longines always seems to me to be unclear if it wants to be a luxury brand (in which case they need to step up movement quality) or a value brand (in which case they need to lower prices). |

Totally agree Roffensian, I too find Longines to be a confusing brand. But still, at 2250 USD retail, I would definately buy that watch if I could find a good enough discount from an AD. I think I will wait untill my Ad has it in stock, if the build quality and feel are as good as it seems in the pics and he gives me the usual 15% its a done deal. |

I would think the Movements in Longines watches have to be modifed to some degree... not sure how much. Enough that they assign them a movement number (L667 for example). I find that their are a very well made watch and feel good and solid when I handle them though. |

The Longines sports collection will be delivered starting November this year. In Austria, the chronograph is almost 500 Euros cheaper then the Tag Heuer Carrera Chrono (Brad Pitt Model). I bought the full collection, just because of the "supported pricing". The calculation of those watches is supported by advertising budget, so I don't expect the prices to stay in that range for too long time. Expect them to rise in about 18 month...
