With an in-house movement, this'll be a great piece of kit. I've tried a couple of the existing Black Bay variants on before and while being a little smaller than I'm used to, they are still lovely watches. The only thing that put me off was the lack of the manufacture movement that's found in the Pelagos. But this has that....AND it's also a little bigger at 43mm too. ![]() |

Very interesting, I always liked the black bays, thought they were a great value at their price point. I've never handled a bronze watch before so I'm not sure how it would look in person. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk |

I've always thought the Black Bays were probably the best deal out there. I know when they put the in house movement into the Pelagos, the price didn't change much but I'm curious to see what the price will be on this one with the new movement and the bronze case. |

Yeah the price-rise was negligible on the Pelagos when they went in-house. Apparently it's aluminium bronze instead of the CuSn8 "marine bronze" which will weather/patinate differently. Despite having had a bronze watch, I must confess to struggling a bit with patina : I'm just not a total convert in terms of something that keeps changing! I find the concept of "forced patina" slightly ridiculous, so I let my watch patinate naturally, got it to where it looked great....but then it kept right on going as you'd expect! Personally, while I think this new Black Bay looks great as it currently is, I'd probably like it less after the patina starts. ![]() |

Tudor also introduced a PVD black bay on their instagram account. https://www.instagram.com/tudorwatch/?hl=en The price on the Bronze model is $3,975, not sure on the PVD price. |

The PVD Black Bay on with leather strap retails for $4150 while on the PVD bracelet retails for $4475. The PVD model will be 41mm and have the in house movement. |

Who has gutts to wear all bronze watch? So far "bronzes" has stainless steel caseback as the bronze would leave green circle to wrist but then, what's the point of having bronze as the potential oxidation can start between case and caseback... |

I think I read that upon servicing, Tudor can restore this to a new finish or you can opt to leave it untouched. |

At 43mm Id be very tempted to check it out, I've been interested in bronze for some time now, but usually way out of range. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nice watch but I think it needs some contrasting color(s). To these eyes, it appears to be a little too monochromatic. |

With the common thread stripping of Breitling titanium, is anyone wondering about this bronze. Isn't bronze a relatively soft metal ? |

Yes you're right bronze is relatively soft, but most (if not all) manufacturers use steel crown tubes and crown inserts to guard against thread stripping. |

I've just recently been turned on to this piece. I despise Rolex, so I've always steered clear of Tudor. However, I've always been intrigued by a bronze case, and since Panerai can't seem to make a bronze 44mm 1950s case for me, this Tudor is piquing my interest quite a bit. There is actually a Tudor dealer in Cambridge, UK that I went into today. The manager said she could get me a Black Bay Bronze if I want. I didn't pull the trigger, but man, for £2800, it's a tough one to pass on. I guess I'm looking for someone to talk me off the cliff or to convince me that I need it . . . |

I have been out of the watch game for a while, but I saw the Black Bay Bronze in a magazine while traveling a couple weeks ago. I haven't gotten anything for a couple years so I brought it up casually to my wife and told her that our local AD had one available (I went to look at it as soon as I arrived home from traveling). A few days ago we were getting ready because we were having family pictures taken. My wife called from the other room and ask me what watch I was wearing. It was kind of an odd question, but I jokingly replied "I guess my Rolex, unless you have something else that I should wear". Right then she came around the corner with the Tudor box.......I must say, I was extremely surprised! I really love the look of the watch and I think they did right with in-house movement and bigger size! Can't wait to watch it patina as I wear it. I guess I'll keep her around for a little bit longer! |
