They are produced in low quantities, they hold their value well and the quality of their watches are impeccable. Same thing with Pateks. etc

the AP brand has been ruined in previous years thanks to non-sensical strategic collaborations with celebs like Shaq O'Neil, Jay-Z, Arnie etc. Kind of destroys all the class the brand has built up in the previous several decades. Add to this the fact that they are exclusively (in England anyway) worn by footballers and WAG's is a further slap in the face.

To me, AP (mainly the royal oak line) is now a brand worn by common-folk who have made alot of money and have tired of their initial foray's into the luxury watch market by way of their Rolex/Cartier's.

Still, their watches look great (without those silly diamonds) and i would love an 48mm Arnie All Stars in rose gold but for £50k i would rather an exclusive RM011 by Richard Mille or a CVSTOS tourbillon.

AP have never done anything for me on an aesthetic level, irrespective of the pros and cons of their image. The Royal Oak Offshore range is the closest I've ever come to almost liking one, but even on those I still hate the bracelet. Not my thing at all.

100% agree. If I had to choose one it would be the APROO, but I can think of a number of brands that offer better value, and better looks.

There are similarities with Breitling in terms of market appeal in recent years, but in my opinion the watches just don't compare.

Agreed as well. I wore the one I was selling for a friend around the house for a while and it really didn't do it for me. Perhaps it was because it was gold... I just don't see ever spending $42k on a blah watch

the royal oak chrono is a nice watch.. but i find the offshore series bulky and tacky... also pretty crazy price for a solid steel watch

I really like the ROO, particularly after trying one on, but when I've asked friends what they think of it they generally seem to think it doesn't look like anything special. What would they know anyway?
