Post subject:  Should I?

While I'm waiting for my Hercules to come back from a service, I've been wearing my Tag. It looks like an older version of the Aquaracer that I bought around 7 years ago. I've not had a peep of trouble out of it, and lately my gorgeous girlfriend has had her eye on it. She has mentioned that when I get my Herc back, she might like my Tag.

What's the form on women wearing men's watches? The Tag isn't massive by anyone's standards, about 36mm across the (perfectly aligned) bezel and 9mm thick, and I was just wondering what was the consensus on such things? She currently has a Cartier but has taken a great liking to the Tag.

Have watch sizes generally got bigger over the last few years? I remember that when I bought the Tag I thought it was quite chunky but the Hercules knocks it into a cocked hat, size-wise. The Tag is currently my back-up, so I probably wouldn't miss it that much.

As with most things it's probably down to what she'd feel comfortable with. On the face of it, 36mm sounds like a decent ladies watch size, but then we are used to big ol' Breitlings on here!

A few weeks ago I was in an AD and the girl in there had a full size (i.e. 41mm) Seamaster Pro on. Yeah it looked quite big, but she was a tall lass, so carried it off quite well.

And the other day in my bank I saw an older lady with a Rolex Submariner on. Again, it looked big, but not overly so as she was a "larger" lady.

However by contrast my g/f really struggles with watches as she is so tiny. We've looked at Starliners for her and I think we'd have to take ALL the removable links out before it'd even start to fit!!

Basically I'd say that if she's comfortable with it, then take the opportunity to unload the Tag!

In addition to her Cockpit Lady my wife has an SOH38 and now the Oris Artelier Skeleton (which is 40mm). She's not big by any means, but the watches don't look too big on her. Not sure that she could carry off anything bigger than 40mm, but it's a good look.

The strap / bracelet is likely the problem - I didn't bother getting the special short bracelet for the Oris (it would have had to have been ordered) because I'm going to get a custom strap, but the standard only just fits on the smallest setting of the deployant.

i always thought mens watches look pretty cool on a girl. i've seen numerous girls wearing rolex gmt/submariner's and even Breitling navitimers and of course their was the beautiful Adrianna in the Sopranos who use to wear a jumbo Cartier tank francaise chronoflex in solid gold. v nice (I was always a little jealous because mine was only bi-colour).

one thing seems to be common with all of them, they wear their watches back to front so the clasp is only seen on the front of the wrist.

The current trend is larger watches on men.

Though I love the heft of my SA, sometimes it's nice to throw on a Ti dive watch and relax. :) None of my watches fit any of my girls... but then again I kind of like them thin

I say if it looks good and your lady likes it, which is the real question, let her rock it.

Mario, you are a bit of a pimp my friend. You can't help it though it's the big bulge you carry around, your shiny, smooth, Super Avenger!

I think a big watch on a woman looks sexier than hell. I remember
seeing in one of my watch magazines a picture of Annabelle Bond
(the lady who climbed the highest mountain on each of the seven
continents, all within a year!) wearing an IWC Big Pilot. She's gorgeous
anyway, but the sight of that enormous watch on her dainty wrist
made her her look even more fantastic. :)

LOL, no sir, I am just currently happily single. ;)

I've done the marriage thing before and to tell you the truth when the right girl comes along I'll give it another go, but until it happens I need to keep myself 'busy' :D
