So I turned 40 a couple of months back and was looking to buy a watch to commemorate my passage into "middle age"

The IWC Yacht Club ticked all the right boxes for me - my first gold watch, sporty yet elegant and the dial color is just plain beautiful.
Of course the 45.4 mm dial size helped too - since I like big sized watches.
