That is pretty stunning. It seems like tropical and breitling don't really go together. Haven't seen many, part from the odd Navi.

I see,.. Well I thought during the 60's, Breitling shared dial makers with other brands & some did turn tropicals...

Out of curiosity, what makes this a tropical dial? Is it the dial color?

During early 50's to mid 60's, most watch makers have their dials done by a 3rd party, mainly BEYELER..
Well, most vintage Rolexes done by them, at that time the dial finish isn't as durable, so over time.. Moist, humidity & UV did damage the dial surface, discolouration and so on.. These damaged dials can only happen in a relatively short period of time & some turns out really beautiful..
Hence the name tropical dial..

so basically these manufacturing defects , cost cutting measures and poor quality control are now collectable and valuable ;-)
