I have a modest watch collection and although I'll continue to accumulate and trade, there is one watch I've decided to keep and pass down to my son once he graduates Uni or turns 25 (He's currently 5). He'll get my "first love" - My Breitling Navitimer Olympus. It was my first "luxury" watch, and the first watch I wanted when looking at watches from store fronts when I was 13 years old, so I figure there is no watch more fitting than that one. It'll always be a classic too. Besides, I won't want to pass on any of my AP's that I hope to have by then…He can have those when I pass away ![]() What watch will you be passing on to your son and why? |

My son gets my Sub one day. All the papers are dated with the day he was born. |

My son typically doesn't wear a watch. With the electronic timekeeping he has (computer, phone), he claims he doesn't need one. Still, he is pretty protective of the Omega Dynamic chromo we got him for his 16th birthday. I was going to save another for him, in particular my first nice watch, but he told me to enjoy my hobby, buy or sell for what I wanted and if, after I enjoyed them there was one I would like to give him, it would mean more. He will likely get one of my watches, but its TBD. |

I got my son a Stowa MO, and had his name engraved on the movement. http://forums.watchuseek.com/f8/tourby- ... ost5557985 |

I shouldn't be commenting since I don't have a son yet but when I do, I will eventually pass on all my watches to him of course. However if I can choose to pass on only one first, that will be my Chronomat 01 LE, because of the "toughness" that he can do any activity with it, and also the sentimental value. My first luxury watch that was bought to commemorate my honeymoon trip, bought from my favorite country(Switzerland), numbered on my year of birth. I will proudly tell him that not more than 2000 in the entire world have the same watch and chances are that he might be the only one owning this legend in our country. Since purchase this watch has accompanied me to every country I travel to and my goal is for this watch to "travel around the world" before passing on the watch to him. I will also ask him to wear this watch on all the important events in his life so that this sole witness of the lives of 2 generations can be eventually be passed on to my grandson, and continues to do his job to serve my future descendants, from generations to generations... |

My two boys will get my collection when I die, and if they decide to sell they can as long as it's not at a pawn shop! Both of my boys are more interested in newer technology, however my oldest son likes pocket watches which I find very cool. |
