Yesterday I walked into my kitchen and my Omega PO rubbed on the underside of my granite countertop.....I was scared to look...and it turned out that I had scratched the brushed portion of the case pretty good. Ironically, the scratch was the same exact shape as the Omega logo and I mean EXACT, it looked like I had someone carve the logo into the case. It bugged the crap out of me all day, first thing this morning I ran to the store and got a 3M Scotchbrite pad and with a few gentle full strokes the entire scratch was gone and the finish looks exactly like the Omega case finish. Incredible!!!

Wow. That was meant to be. Weird scratch shape but glad you got it out with a scouring pad.

If that had been me, it would have looked nothing like the logo pertaining to the watch make it was scratched onto, and a few gentle rubs with a pad would have made it look even worse!

Scotchbrite pads are superb for refinishing brushed steel. I've said it here before, but a few years ago I had a fairly scratched Seamaster Pro that I was trading in at an AD for something else. I went to town on the case and bracelet with the scotchbrite, and when I took it into the AD they were appraising the watch (and I kid you not), the guy looks at it for a few mins and says, "Have you ever worn it?"! It was a daily wearer for around 3 years, so yes, scotchbrite definitely works if you use them carefully.

You may have devalued the watch by fixing it. :wowzers A few years ago someone Ebayed (for crazy $s) a cheese sandwich with an image of Mother Theresa (or was it the Virgin Mary?) grilled on it.

I thought it was Jesus? But I remember hearing something about that. If the Omega Logo just appeared then I woulda listed the watch for a $1mil on eBay but since my stupidness caused it I figured it was best to fix it.
