No, a lot of people like the visual "warmth" of acrylic crystal over sapphire, particularly on vintage models. Additionally some like the fact that acrylic is owner-refurbishable in the event of scratches. Personally I prefer the clarity and scratch-resistance of sapphire, but I can appreciate acrylic on the right watch.
