I am currently looking for a tough watch that I can take fishing with me. I'd like a watch that has a compass and tide chart on it. The only thing I have found so far is Timex and Casio, which I am not too excited about! Any nice watch makers out there that make a watch with these features?

P.s. I dont know you will find tide info on the watch as well, but typically any plotter / fisffinder will provide tidal info, currents etc

I like the prw2500 it's solar atomic tide charts abc function. The compass isn't really accurate on any watch for navigation btw.

How about the Citizen Altichron?

That has compass and barometric features. Also the most comfortable rubber strap I've ever worn, (Even more pliable than my Dive-Pro III) it's called Liquid Rubber apparently...

Looks kinda funky too. (IMO)

i got mine online from Creation watches at half the price of the local store.

I know you've already mentioned them OP, but a G-Shock is probably going to be your best bet if you want tide info as well as other functions in a truly tough watch. Personally for something like fishing I'd want to be wearing something with all the functions but at a disposable price-level where I wouldn't be too gutted if it got damaged. G-Shock all the way for me.

(PS - I really like that Altichron Davie! Pretty funky looking piece!)

Yep this is a pretty cool beasty. I got caught by a salesman in Goldsmiths, and he used to work at WOS. So had picked up on my Emergency immediately. Let's be honest, it's not difficult too spot…

Anyhow he insisted on showing me a few bit's he though were worth a look see.

I found myself online at work that afternoon and ended up with 2…..

this was the second one. A bit less shouty than the Altichron, but very nice indeed.

That's not a bad piece either Davey, although I personally prefer the Altichron.

What's the crystal on the Altichron made of incidentally? Mineral or Sapphire? I've had a look on-line and it's never mentioned (which of itself woudl indicate it nots sapphire as most companies love to shout about it if they use it).
