Hello everyone,

I was previously of the opinion that reference numbers clearly describe a model and its variants and therefore all variants of the model have their own reference number.
That doesn't seem to be true, for example the Datejust II 40 from Rolex has several variants under the ref n. 218239, for example with a different dial.

How can you tell these variants apart or is there a way to determine which variants belong to a model?

Many thanks in advance for any help with this.
