I recently sold a watch (off forum to a non forum buyer), I was surprised that the buyer asked no questions whatsoever.
He made many assumptions (including the Crown Jewels) and then started whining like a babe with nappy rash.

So I though I/we could put a list together of questions to ask before buying (in the +tve spirit of Caveat emptor).

I will add any suggestions to the list.

1 ) Condition of watch/working condition?
2 ) Pictures of the serial number with the matching papers?
3 ) Picture of watch with hand written paper stating buyers name and date?
4 ) How many links in the bracelet (confirming as shown in pics)?
5 ) When was it serviced?
6 ) Box and papers?
7 ) Refs (from both sides)?
8 ) Method of despatch?
9 ) Insured despatch?
10 ) SELLER: ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING. ITEM CONDITION AS SHOWN BY PICTURES. ALL SALES FINAL! (Thanks Kromdom)
11 ) Ever water submerged? (Thanks Sharkman)
12 ). Any water exposure into the watch? (Thanks Sharkman)
13) running within cosc specs? (Thanks Sharkman)
14) ANY marks on the crystal? (Thanks Sharkman)
15) ANY marks on case or bracelet other than normal hairlines (micro-scratches) that can be hand-polished away? (Thanks Sharkman)
16) Is the luminova degraded at all? (a good sign of water exposure) (Thanks Sharkman)
17 )......

Looks good Alan. Might also come in handy for sellers to provide this information even if its not asked for by the buyer.

Practicing a bit of LLAP-Goch on buyers never goes astray.

last stipulation for the SELLER: ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING. ITEM CONDITION AS SHOWN BY PICTURES. ALL SALES FINAL!

P.S. Not for watches but I have posted videos on youtube of items for sale. 360 views, font/back, up/down, in/out, etc.

1. Ever water submerged?

2. Any water exposure into the watch?

3. running within cosc specs?

4. ANY marks on the crystal?

5. ANY marks on case or bracelet other than normal hairlines (micro-scratches) that can be hand-polished away?

6. Is the luminova degraded at all? (a good sign of water exposure)

7. Has it been serviced? When? Why? Where? (as in - Not by a Breitling Service center). Do you have service documentation?

8. Never call the watch a "dinosaur" or "piece of crap" in negotiations (I had that happen recently - he didn't get the watch).
