OK everyone, after some discussions here - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=50557, let's try and get some watches listed. A few guidelines that I am going to enforce here simply to try and make this more manageable:

1) No multiple nominations of versions of the same watch - a GMT II is a GMT II. I have no issues with different models from a range but it can get into grey areas so with limits on how many watches per brand we accept try to find the most iconic example.
2) Current pieces should have a list price of no more than $25,000. This avoids stratospheric watches without penalising too many brands. PP may suffer a bit - this year's new Calatrava 5227 is excluded, but there has to be a threshold somewhere.
3) Non current pieces should have a current secondary market price of no more than $25,000. Same logic applies here, we'll try to use common sense - a NOS example of a very rare variant may be selling for more but consider pricing for 'normal' pieces.
4) You MUST include a link to information on the watch. For current pieces the brand's website page will work, but I need to be in no doubt which watch you are nominating. I will use this link in the matchups so please make sure that it works and shows your nomination off in a good light. Without this part the nomination will not be accepted - I can't read your minds and go chasing down links to the piece that I think that you nominated. Please make sure that these are links that will remain - so not eBay links that will disappear after a while.

Please also remember - no Breitlings here, we'll use the ones that made it to the end of the Best Breitling competition.

Other than that, no restrictions at this point. Let's see how many nominations we get and then we can consider things like preliminary rounds per brand, limitations on number of pieces per brand, etc. If people follow the guidelines I have no issues with 1,000 nominations - at least it will demonstrate interest in the competition. So please go at it and I will update this thread as we go.

Nominations so far (not numbering as we aren't trying to 'fill slots' yet) in alphabetical order to assist in identifying pieces already nominated:

Okay, "marking my territory" I suppose, but Roff can tell me if I'm off on this:

Rolex GMT Master

http://s1124.photobucket.com/user/Scott ... ort=3&o=27

I am actually fine with a GMT II, but to avoid confusion I'm staking my claim for the original, the non-ceramic bezel model. If Roff accepts a larger umbrella covering the II in ceramic and non-ceramic I'm all for it. Also, the pic I have rights to is my old original model. I simply want the interchangeable black/coke/pepsi bezel model involved.

Personally I have no issues, but we are going to have to limit the number of a certain brand included in the final competition. If we have to have some kind of 'play in' then we can have all of the nominated watches for a brand compete for the restricted number of places available, but let's see what gets nominated first - I want to be fairly broad about things right now because we just don't know how many submissions there will be.

I know there's already the YMII and the GMTII, but I think you need these Rolex in there as well:

Submariner - Whatever version, aluminum insert or ceramic insert, it should be there.

http://www.rolex.com/watches/submariner ... -0001.html

The Daytona

http://www.rolex.com/watches/cosmograph ... -0016.html

The Datejust - Either the 36mm or the Datejust 2

http://www.rolex.com/watches/datejust-i ... -0006.html

I think this puts us over the Rolex limit, but these really should be included

At the risk of it becoming a bit of a Panerai-fest I'm going to nominate the beautifully simple -

Panerai 312
http://www.panerai.com/en/watch-collect ... c-pam00312

... and the beautifully complex (well, slightly more complex!) -

Panerai 275
http://www.gemnation.com/watches/Panera ... -8896.html

I know the AP Royal Oak has been nominated, but I really want to nominate the -

AP Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph
http://www.audemarspiguet.com/en/watch- ... .D091CR.01

I also want to nominate these -

JLC Master Compressor Extreme W-Alarm
http://www.jaeger-lecoultre.com/GB/en/w ... rm/1778470#/t1

JLC Master Compressor Diving Pro Geographic
http://www.jaeger-lecoultre.com/GB/en/w ... ck=version

Lastly, I want to nominate a Roger Debuis as I think they make some of the most amazing watches around. However, I'm struggling to find one I like under the $25k limit! So I'll go with the -

Roger Dubuis Easy Diver
http://www.gemnation.com/watches/Roger- ... -9158.html

1) JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual. Nuff Said.A true perpetual calendar for under 20k? (in SS of course) Talk about unbelieveable value.
http://www.jaeger-lecoultre.com/US/en/w ... 30842J#/t1

2) Tudor Heritage Chronograph Blue. The comeback kid of the year.
http://www.tudorwatch.com/#/en/heritage-chrono-blue/

3) FP Journe Chronometre Bleu. In-house movement with a fantastic blue dial cased up in Tantalum and a solid gold movement to boot. Under 20k. (For this one please look up chronometre bleu)
http://www.fpjourne.com/eu/collections-en-1.html

4) Cartier Calibre A tremendous value for Cartier's three hand in-house.
http://www.cartier.us/collections/timep ... tier-watch

That'll be it for now. Thanks Roff!

EDIT: links provided. Next time I'll have to read the instructions better
Oops Including the links now... sorry!!

The Offshore technically retails for $25,700 so it'll have to be replaced with the royal oak chrono. I hate to throw the red flag on it, but I really want to nominate the 5711 if only it were a little cheaper.

Isn't it $25,000 exactly on rubber?
