The Ploprof never really appealed to me, largely because of it's shape and size. I recently had my eyes opened when by trying it on, and doing some research about the engineering of the magnificent watch. That has happened a number of times with various watches. I have initially been unimpressed, but after learning more about the engineering and mechanics that has gone into the design and production, I have often become and admirer. So it is with the Ploprof.

Before anyone starts seething with envy, the Ploprof in the photo belongs to a Sales Associate at the Omega Boutique. He kindly let me try it and also took a photo for me:

I was so impressed with the looks and comfort of the mesh bracelet. After I had it on my wrist, I became even more enthusiastic when I played with the adjustable clasp. Dare I say this might outdo the Glidelock system on the Rolex Sub bracelet. Quoted from the Omega website:

"The bracelet, with its double extension system, is fitted with OMEGA’s new diving safety clasp whose pinned links allow precise adjustments to 18 positions."

Very smooth and simple to adjust!

The amount of engineering gone into this model is so impressive. I won't go on and on about this watch, as the Omega website does this much better:

Once I got home, I really did more research. While it is likely not a watch I will ever own, if I could afford a collection of expensive watches, I think this might be included. Now that I know more about it, I am even starting to appreciate how it looks!

Cheers,
Carl

Looks good on you there Carl.

It's no secret that I'm a massive fan of the Proplof (although I personally don't like the white dial version so much) : I love my black dial version - in fact it's my favourite watch. The funny thing is, while a lot of people seem to dislike it in pictures I've actually yet to find someone who's not liked my Ploprof when they've seen it in person, even non-WIS folk.
