Hey guys, i sold my last Breitling B1 and my Sub Two Tone is not around anymore so I think im ready to just get one watch. Heres my opinion on both Breitling Navi 01 great looking watch, somewhat limited, love the look Rolex- My Sub was a dream to wear, perfect weight, loved it, not as flashy as the Navi in my opinion but still a eye catcher. Anyone have any first hand wrist time with either of these and can give me some good info on them. Pros or cons if there is any. Im kinda leaning toward the Navi 01 just cause its a bit more rare to see it, Rolex seem to be on more wrists than the 01 but man my last sub was just a great watch to have on my wrist. This is a hard one cause everyday i seem to change my mind. The deepsea seems to be such a good versatile watch for everyday wear compared to Navi. Thanks guys. |

The Navi would be a great choice, but if it were me and only one watch I would opt for the DS. I like to have water resistance, and also the Rolex has better presence on the wrist than the smaller Navitimer. That being said, they are both great watches, and you can't really go wrong with either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Personally I'd go with the Deepsea, because (as much as I really do like the Navi 01), I find the Navi a little too small for my tastes..... hence why I've been holding out for an in-house Navi World sized Navi for so long. The Deepsea is a superb watch (with a more proven movement inside) and as others have said, it's definitely the more practical watch if you are in a "one and only watch" situation. If I was you I'd try to forget about the "more rare to see one" angle as ultimately you should buy a watch because you like it, not just because it's more rare. You have to live with whatever you buy, so who cares if you see a few Deepsea's around? But I agree that either would be a fine choice. ![]() |

Based on your comments about weight and fit, you definitely need to spend some time with a Deepsea before buying one. It's a much different weight, size, lay on the wrist than your sub. On my wrist it was like a brick. Between those two I'd definitely take the Navi, but if you want a little more substance but the style the old sub, try to find or try on the older Seadweller. Its thicker than the Sub but not too much IMO, and just a more substantial feel all around. I still think the Navi is a more beautiful piece but it you have any concerns about water the Seadweller would be a great choice. |

I would go for the DeepSea too. But just to throw a curve ball in there how about an explorer 2? |

i think that its pretty clear that I am a Rolex fan. of these 2 its really hard for me to choose. the DSSD is a HUGE watch and IMO too thick as an everyday wearer. that said the navi 01 WR is not that great. is there any chance you would consider a new sub c? that really is a great compromise between these 2 models. |

Although I love both of these I think they are both too specific for a single watch duty. I would lean towards a no date Sub-C which has all of the high marks of the other Rolex models, but is not often seen in the wild. I am also a big fan of the Explorer II as a wild card. As a 'one watch" option I tend to lean towards bracelets. The second option is to go with a Navi in 7750 and a Seadweller. |
