Hello All,

Been a long while since I've visited. I hope everyone's lives are well and everyone is healthy. I just wanted to ask you all an opinion question. What's your general opinion on U-Boat? Specifically, I am looking at the Classico 53mm Chronograph with Beige Dial and brown strap. Thoughts? Or I may just go with the non crono Classico. The watch retails for $4k I have been offered a price from AD of $3,200. Fair? Looking forward to hearing your guys's views. Lastly, anyone know if the chrono is still made? Or when it was launched? I don't see it on their website anymore but have come across them easily as NOS at Ads.

Over priced and low quality control - wouldn't pay more than half of list for one and even then there are better options.

Thanks Roff. Good hearing from you. I was looking back through some older posts of yours and at one time you mentioned quality was pretty good but just nothing special in terms of collectibility or movements as most are just VAL7750. Has the quality gone done or just your opinion shifted a bit? What are some other options? My wants are a white tone dial, light brown strap, chrono or no chrono doesn't really matter. Thoughts? What exactly are you referring to in the watches that is low quality?

I didn't say that the watch was low quality, I said quality control was low. The watches have become hit or miss - you may get a good one, you may get a bad one. For that kind of watch I would look at TW Steel, big and bold but priced for what it is rather than what it wants to be. If you are going to pay U-Boat money I would pay a little more for Bell & Ross for a comparable look.

Thanks. I thought maybe you meant the QC led to specific, reoccurring issues with the boats. I check out Bell and Ross and the though thing is white dials with no case coating. I forgot about TW Steel. Thank you again
