Hello chums,

On Thursday my wife and I were guests of our AD at a Rolex evening at the wonderful 5 Star Grand Hotel in Eastbourne.

The occasion was rather splendid and refined, and thoroughly enjoyable. My AD owner, Ashley Pugh was a wonderful host. The Rolex representative was kind and very much remained in the background.

I did get to try on a number of the Rolex range. The ones I could see me buying were ;

Milgauss white dial
SD Deep Sea
And, sorry, The Yachtmaster II

BUT

I did try on the star of the show, the Platinum Cosmograph Daytona. It has a sky blue dial, a great bezel, no bloody date bubble (Which I really dislike on any watch.). This was the prototype, the real ones are out soon at a mere £50k.

It's a bloody nice watch I can tell you. You do need a wrist of steel to wear it. It's HEAVY which I also love.

Golly, a Rolex I love. Never thought I'd be hearing myself say that.

Thank you to my AD and too Rolex who were there, but never pushing for sales.

A delightful evening.

Davey

Hi Davey,

Sounds like it was a great night out. All you need to do (so that you are not tempted by any offers) is undergo hypnosis or some Breilting retail theory instead. :)

What you are suffering from is curable. :lol:

Nothing wrong with liking the Yachtmaster II IMO Davey - I think it's a great peice, especially now that it's *ahem* "affordable" in SS.

Sounds like you and your Mrs had a good time. I'm clearly off my old AD's list for events like this these days...... probably because it's been a while since I gave him any business! :lol: Bit of a shame as I'd been to a few quality evemts like this myself in the past. Never a Rolex one though.
