The Breitling Watch Source Forums

Hey guys, hopefully someone can help me out with this. I am looking to switch up the look of my Calibre and throw it on a strap. I have no clue where to begin as the only straps I am familiar changing out are Breitling's. I don't see the springs the way a Breitling has. Does anyone have any advice?

Is it not just screwed? I thought that all of the Calibre de Cartiers had screwed lugs.

Ahhh that could be it. Wasn't too sure and didn't want to start unscrewing things. So that would seem to be the answer. Any idea which took would be best for the job?

A screwdriver?!?

Don't know what the size is for Cartier, Bergeon 160 or 180 work best for Breitling (1.6 or 1.8mm)

Ok might be another obvious answer but I can't seem to figure this out. Turns out the Cartier needed a 2mm screwdriver. Screws came out easily but they are small and do not extend throughout the other side of the bracelet. There seems to be a pin/bar still holding the bracelet in place. Tried pushing it through but no luck

Any ideas?

Usually you would undo one side and leave the other side screwed into the spring bar, if you screw one side back in can you not then pull it out using the screw?

Tried that, once you begin screwing the other side out, all that comes out is the small screw. It doesn't grab the bar/pin inside. Any other ideas?

Was contemplating bringing it to a Tourneau that is nearby but am not too confident in there abilities

Well if you can't do it yourself then you don't have much choice. You are currently relying on advice from someone who can't even handle the watch to see what's going on!

No shot that the Calibre can not swap from bracelet to strap though, correct?

Unscrew the screw about half way then push the screw in with your finger, it should back the shaft out. Don't force it, it might break.

You can always put a strap on a watch - even 'integrated bracelets' are removable.



Except that he has already removed both screws.

I though that there was a screw in only one side, and the other side the cylinder slides out. I guess I misread that.
