Very nice Joe - looks like Christmas came early with all those Bergeon boxes. Looks like you have a lot of balance wheel work in your future - love that poising tool. |

Hi Roff yes Christmas had come early today very existing to see all the tools. He said tomorrow he's going to make us sharpen screwdrivers all day and if their not perfect we have to do them again and again. And when It comes to straightening wheels out he's going to give us hundreds to flatten out haha but their is some very interesting tools their I can't wait to use them. Thanks Joe ![]() |

Flattening balance wheels can be a very frustrating, but very rewarding experience. My truing calipers (same as your 5896) are the source of much joy and much frustration, but I have managed to resist the temptation of throwing them across the room so far ![]() |

Always enjoy these posts Joe, thanks. I had a glimpse of the skills required when I did a JLC masterclass (as recounted @) viewtopic.php?f=28&t=47343 It only enhanced my admiration for the concentration and dexterity required. ("Now, don't squeeze those tweezers too tightly, or..." [ping] "well, yes, that happens..." |

Impressive stuff, Joe, you have my respect and admiration! Wielding a Bergeon 6767-F in anger challenges the limits of my horological dexterity! ![]() |

And yes this is one of the things that you have to get used to is just holding the tweezers with the right amount of pressure or ping haha I think at times I have spend more time on the floor than on the bench. ![]() |

I love these posts, Joe. It really makes me admire even more what's on my wrist knowing how much training the watchmaker had to go through. The way you describe it, it almost sounds like military training! |

Crickey, with the amount of screwdriver sharpening going on, you're gonna need another set before you've even started! ![]() Another great update Joe! Keep them coming. ![]() |
