hi guys.. I had a couple quick questions about 2 watches I own.. One is a 1970 Rolex Sub and the other is a 68 Tudor sub with the "flower" dial. Both need new crystals and some other work done. Rolex's crown stem is broken and the inside is in pretty bad shape as it hasn't been serviced in 40 years. The tudor runs however it is extremely fast.. I would like to get them both restored. Should I send them to rolex? I've heard this could cost around $1,500 a piece. This wouldn't bother me if I knew they were worth something when it was done (which I don't, because I know nothing about vintage watches). Or could I get a watchmaker at my local Rolex dealer to fix them? And if someone could shed some light on about how much these two would be worth when it was done, that would be great too!! Thanks!

If you send it to Rolex, they will charge you a pretty penny, but plenty of independent Rolex repair guys out there who certainly know what they're doing.

Google Bob Ridley and ABC Watchwerks for starts. I've heard nothing but good things when it comes to service and Rolexes for them.

I would be extremely interested in buying your 1970 submariner as is. I have been looking for a 1970 Submariner because its the year I was born. If your interested in selling it. Please forward me pictures or better yet give me a call at 617 721 0333.

Thanks
