I have been thinking on a new addition ever since I moved to a two watch rotation earlier in the year, (daily wear Omega and my beater Hamilton) and I know I want a chrono for this spot on my small team. My size preference has moved toward smaller in the last year. My 38mm Omega fits like a dream on my 6 3/4 wrists, so I am not really considering anything above 42mm. There are several 43-44mm models that are at the front of the market such as the Navi 01 and Speedy, but I am looking to stay in the 4k range so these are out regardless. So with these parameters in mind I came to a list of the classics and a wildcard to choose from...

1.) Breitling Navitimer A22332 - I loved my Navi when I owned it and hated to move it along, and I would have no problem welcoming a new one home

2.) IWC 3717 - I have always wanted to check one of these out

3.) Omega Speedmaster Pro - A pure classic

4.) Tudor Heritage Chrono- The wildcard because I love the design and a bi-compax layout

Since I already have the blue AT, which is slightly flashy in its own way, I am looking for a sportier chrono black or gray. Although I do really like the blue model and think Tudor as a whole is a pretty good value buy

I would get the tudor out of those. Its unique, has a cool retro look, and is a reasonable value.

You also can't go wrong with the Navi or speedy as they are both iconic watches. That IWC was never a personal favorite of mine.....

I would be very tempted by the Tudor because it's different, but as a timeless piece that can stay in the collection forever I would go with one of the others. You already have an Omega, and that particular IWC doesn't do it for me, so I would go with the Navi.

+1 on the Navitimer, though if you consider the manual wind Speedy, why not think about the original, a nice 1960s Navitimer ref. 806 ?

My question would be if you "miss" the Navi. Or, on the other hand, is one of the others a piece in which you have been interested for a while? All things equal, I'd probably go with the Navi but it would be a close call.

With one Omega already, I might lean away from the Speedy. I have tried on each of these and while its retro the Tudor felt the most modern at the same time. It's big, though,compared to the Navi and IWC. The IWC is to me the nicest finished piece, highest quality, but the style is polarizing. If you love it, get it, but I have wondered if its more suited for a larger collection. Living with a midsize AT, I would think the Navi would be the perfect size. You cant go wrong with any of these IMO. Good luck.

The only one I definitely wouldn't have out of those is the IWC. The others all have their merits : both the Navi and Speedie are 100% timeless classics, but the Tudor has that retro-cool thing that I really like in a watch. The only thing that puts me off the Tudor slightly is all the blank "real estate" in the lower half of the dial. It just looks like it needs a word or two on it there.

So Navi or Speedie : as you have an Omega (and this is a Breitling forum!) go Navi! :thumbsup:

Navitimer or Speedmaster gets my vote.

Had the IWC, was disappointed. Tudor would be a different look, no strong opinion one way or the other on this one.

I would go with the Tudor, it is something different and looks great too. My second pick would be the Navi.

I'd grab the Tudor in blue as it's a beauty, but otherwise the Navi :-)

I am not terribly surprised by the responses here....The Navi and Turdor are my favorite as well. The IWC may be a bit staid and I already have my Hamilton with a matte black dial and large arabic numerals.

The Speedy Pro seems like a good option but I am not sure if the plexiglass crystal really fits my idea of a luxury watch. Another nice watch that I appreciate but don't really "have" to own, especially since I already have an Omega

As for the Navi....I really do miss mine and it held down the primary spot in my rotation for well over two years, so there is no guessing in that regard. I also think a Navi on croc strap would be a great compliment to my AT on bracelet.

I have always considered adding a vintage piece and if I were togo down this route a Navi would be an obvious choice for me. I always thought my first vintage watch would be a true dress model but vintage chronos are pretty damned cool. Maybe I should head over to the vintage forum to do some research.

I am a huge fan of retro model re-issues as they have that cool styling of years past but also use modern materials, although I do agree on the blank real estate. There seems to be a lot of love for the Tudor and I love most of their line-up. For those that are in the know....what is the manufacturing relationship between Rolex and Tudor? I could care less from a branding perspective but how close are the manufacturing specs?
