;)

Still loving the IWC's, 5001 (i hope it doesnt wear to small on me though) and even the Yacht Club even though I don't hear te beat things about it. Also still thinking about another Navi World, maybe black this time though.

Well it's just me, but.....

If I wasn't sure what I wanted then I would be leaving the money at home. I have never dropped that kind of money on a watch without being sure that it was what I wanted - but then I don't sell so it's important to me to get it right. Tom and Sergio may have a slightly different answer :-)

Regarding the "another one pops into my head" issue, nothing new there. For a big purchase like you are contemplating, I'd suggest not to buy anything the first moment you see it. I have gone back two, three, four times to be sure that follow-up impression is the same as, or at least close enough to, the first. This is especially so if you are buying new, because you are losing money the moment you walk out the door (yeah, yeah, there are exceptions, but not that many) and also because the change you are making looks to be dramatic. That Rolex was a pretty significant piece in your collection, if I recall. I know this to be sacrilege, but you might even spend a week without it in your collection before you make any final decision about what it is you want in its place. Oh, and finally, do as I say, not as I do.

Very good points. I'm by no means a rush to pull the trigger. I may come back with a watch or I may not. Honestly, I have always had a thing for those IWC models, and I'm pretty sure that I always will, regardless. I also do regret selling my NW more than the rolex. so if i were to pull the trigger on that and put some money back in the bank, i wouldnt be upset. We will see....

But sometimes no matter what, the itch can only be scratched by buying the piece, even if a couple of months later you discovered you just don't wear it that much after all...

I have been known to sell watches in the past (although no-where the level of Sharky or Sergio!), but I'd still like to be absolutely 100% (at that point in time at least! ) of the watch I was buying, so there's no way I'd head into an AD with $10K in my pocket and only a rough idea of what I was after. It could be a costly mistake.........., but if you're cool with Sharky's "buy it, sell it, lose $4k" then go for it!

I'll leave the cash at home this trip. I think I'll waste a couple hours of George's time trying on a plethora of nice pieces, take some wrist shots, thn sleep on it. I do want to try on the Explorer II as well, * forgot to mention that the first time.

I have tried on the Explorer II at Govberg and another shop...both times very hard to say no. Feels like butter on your wrist. EII gets my vote if you at all like it. White, not black!

We will see my friend, we will see.

Once again, I am in a good spot. The funds are there, now I have to make a decision, which I am in no rush to do.

I do agree with the EII, you simply can not go wrong with this watch and it is virtually indestructible and can be worn from the beach to the board room!

Maybe 10K isn't a big deal, but you may want to put a little more thought into this. I know new watches can be exciting and if you are like me, then once you have the idea in your head, you "need" to have it. This holds true for a lot of things, not just watches. With that said, think about it and get what you REALLY want.
