Specifically in NYC. Ideally, I'm looking for an honest jeweler who isn't going to lowball me. I've once traded in a watch at Tourneau, and although they honestly did give me a pretty good price, they would only agree to do a trade-in, and when you do trade-ins they do not discount, you pay full retail. So in the end, it wasn't much of a deal. Basically I want to avoid eBay or craigslist unless I have absolutely no other options. I'm pretty paranoid about the possibility of losing my Breitling to a scam. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. |

You can't get scammed if you ship the watch after any form of payment is cleared. |

For a check or a money order sure. Definitely not with paypal. If it comes down to it, that's what I'll end up doing over eBay, but it's a lot harder to sell that way. |

You can pull funds from PayPal to your bank account and then ship the watch. |

Well depending on the piece Antiquorum may accept it. Not sure what their policy is on 'normal' watches, but not everything they sell is a solid gold LE PP. Mind you, they aren't cheap...... |

Don't get it. How can the buyer scam you when you take away the cash he send you for the watch? Can you please tell me your case if it's not inappropriate. |

They have previous and upcoming sales on their website - take a look, you may be surprised. I almost bought a Navitimer Airborne from them earlier this year and that only sold for just over $2,500. |

So practically any buyer can scam you for the watch? That's horrible. |

That's horrible. thats why you see the bigger watch dealers on ebay only accept cashier checks/money orders. paypal means credit card companies enter the equation and paypal cant beat them even when theyre on your side. its unfortunate, but thats life :p upon further consideration i probably wont be selling afterall anyway. but if anyone does know an nyc jeweler who buys at decent prices id still be interested. |
