At a business meeting this past Friday, the CEO had on a gold Hublot Big Bang. It was quite a sharp looking watch. does the quality match the extreme price tags? What are your thoughts on Hublot? |

I think they are very cool looking pieces, and they use high end materials. However I am not sure about the how the mechanics are. |

The extreme price tags are often accompanied by extreme discounts also (though I would still only consider a pre-owned one). A friend has one of the oceanographic jeans hublot, and in the metal they are surprisingly gorgeous. Not at all tacky. |

Like the look of some, don't like the value for money - although with some getting in house it's improving. |

I used to dislike them as over-priced for what they are, and in the case of the Big Bang, heavily "influenced" IMO by AP. However, they've come a long way recently and there's a few I quite like now. |

I think some of the lower end models make more sense to me. That’s often the way, the lower end are more practical and accessible. The higher end tends to be trying too hard in this brand. Although I have not been up close, would I buy or consider wearing one, anyone? Nup. Big Bang Zoo is a case in point. ![]() |

For the price tag, even when combined with a generous discount, I'd still pass |

Ive been to the boutique, and they have some pretty nice models. Way overpriced, although you can get a pretty solid discount if you know where to look. |

The 'Big Bang' has little pop with me. It is trendy and most cases as over done as it is rare. Although I give Hublot highly distinctive design high marks, the same can be said about Gerald Genta's creations (Patek's Nautilus and AP Royal Oak). Not sure if he played a hand in this design but looks to me as if he could have. For the price and perhaps the long term appeal, the Nautilus would be my first choice if my pockets were deep. |

I can appreciate what Hublot does stylistically...just not for me. |

I was actually about to ask this forum the exact question. I've recently been in the market for a ceramic cased watch because I'm allergic to all non-precious metals. (I wear my stainless steel watches, just not for long periods of time) The panerai ceramics are definitely at the top of my list. However, I've also recently seen some of the Hublot big bang ceramics and I must say they are definitely impressive. As stated already they are definitely expensive and I wasn't too sure if they were overpriced or if they were that good of a watch. Any other suggestions on ceramic watches? (not bell & ross) |
