It took me a bit, but I am finally getting into the Panerai brand mor wand more... For some reason my eye keeps coming back to the 323.

Next watch? Possibly...

I like the 10 day pams, but im not a fan of certain layouts, and this is one of them. I 9 o'clock subdial or 6 o'clock, but not both. Personally, I think that dial would look 10x better without the 9 o'clock subdial.

over the years i have really tried to love Panerai. Their is some appeal and they do have a cult like following. Sadly though I just dont think they are worth the money. Resale on them seems solid so if you dont like it I think that you will have an easy time dumping it.

correct me if im wrong but isnt the 323 a 47mm dial? thats pretty huge. personally not a fan of this model either. but if it sings to you buy it

Yes it is 47mm, but as it's a Rad (with the wire "lugs") it wears smaller than the size would suggest.

I'm quite a Panerai fan, but the 323 wouldn't be my first choice. Personally I'd go for a 270 if you want the 10 day movement, but that's just my personal choice.

Well I figured I have a 41mm, and 43mm watch already in my small collection so I would want something a bit more substantial. I once had the Navi World (which I do regret selling) and it fit wonderfully in my 7.5 wrist. The Radiomirs always appealed to me with the more classic/traditional look compared to the other model. For some reason it sticks out. I do not know though at this moment in time, I think this is more me thinking out loud and dreaming as I do have my first son on the ways any day now. I think the wife would castrate me, unless I were to sell the TT Rolex.

How is the 10 day movement though, out of curiosity? Hopefully not having issues like the BIG Pilot. For some reason I have always been skeptical about large movements like this...

From what I've heard, the 10 Panerai movement is a lot better in terms of timekeeping than the 7 day IWC. That said, I do know two people who own 270's - one of them swears his is within COSC, but other guy has sent his 270 back at least 3 times for regulating and it's still not within COSC specs.

However, the general consensus is the the 10 dayer is generally OK. I'd have one if I was still in the market for £10k watches these days.

I really like the 323 and for awhile it was on the top of my hit list. However, I feel that for a Rad it sits pretty high on the wrist. I think the Luminor models are better suited to that kind of thickness, while the Radiomirs seem to look coolest when they are on the thinner side.

However, it's a subjective thing, and if I found one for a great price I'd be pretty tempted. In fact, I'd probably already have one if they wouldn't have just started producing those new 1940's cases, like the 512... really like those cases and lugs.

323 is a great watch though... I'd wear it if I had one!!!

Cheers

Ross
