I'm sceptical that they can achieve the $250 wholesale price point, especially with US production, but it certainly is interesting.

I have a very hard time believing that this is real. Shinola are launching watches now that are legitimately made in the USA (Detroit) with relatively low end Swiss quartz movements and selling direct they aren't getting close to this price for 3 hand models and Chinese tourbillons mass produced out of stamped steel are not priced at this level.

Further, there is a global shortage of hairsprings largely because there are so few suppliers. There are so few suppliers because it is very difficult to master the skill and the equipment required is very expensive and yet these guys can produce them - I highly doubt it (unless they accept accuracy of +/- 30 minutes a day or more).

The more I think about it, the less I believe it.
