Post subject:  Assistance identifying a Britix Watch...

Hello All,
A friend has asked me to help her determine the type/value of a watch she found amongst her deceased husbands' things. It appears to be a Britix watch. My cursory research shows that some believe Britix was a subsidiary of Breitling, so I was thrilled when I found this site.

Does anyone have any information about the watch pictured in the attached image? It's 18k gold and is numbered on the back (5216), but we'd like to know when it was manufactured. I can't seem to find any examples online that have the same watch face, and we'd like to know the approximate age of the piece and any guesstimates as to value/rarity.

Thanks in advance for you help. The Internet can be an amazing resource, and I excited to assist my friend in identifying the piece.

Leah

No expert on Britix, but there is no connection with Breitling.

as far as we know there was no connection between Britix and Breitling.

it is a nice watch, most probably a Landeron 187 movement, production period late 40s to mid 50s.

value should be very roughly around €500
