hey everyone, thinking about getting either a jlc master control (40mm) for about 3.5K or a blancpain leman grand date or the villaret big date (also 40mm) for about 5K. anyone have any opinions on either watch? which is "better" or at least a better bang for the buck? any thoughts would be appreciated. jason |

If You want to collect the watch and put it into a displaycase, buy the Blancpain, if You want to wear it, get the JLC. There is a saying: Never sell a Blancpain to a repetitive customer, You will lose him. They make a lot of service trouble. Best greetings Thomas |

hahaha, really? learn something new everyday. i've only been seriously looking at watches for the last couple of months, so i'm slowly expanding my horizons. i didn't know blancpains were that troublesome. what kind of problems do they typically have? well i am looking for something i could wear a couple of times a week to rotate with my chrono evo and possibly a second breitling i might be buying behind my loving wife's back (shh . . . ) thanks for the advice, i'll have to do some more research. |

hmm possibly later, at first i was very much in the lingman camp, but the more i look at them the more appealing they look. but right now i'm deciding between the blancpain and jlc, and a bentley 6.75/motors/motors t or possibly one of the navitimers. so much to buy, so little money haha. |

I understand the problem! I still can't decide whether or not to sell my 6.75... This is what I'm wearing today ![]() It's kinda nice to know there are only 399 others like it in the world...makes it rather special to me! |

PS - no, the picture isn't backwards - it's a left handed version, originally made for Italian Navy frogmen as they wore their depth gauges on the left wrist...cunning these Italians ![]() |

that is a beautiful watch, the left-handed crown is pretty awesome. decisions, decisions. let me know if you plan on selling the 6.75. i tried looking for one at an ad in korea, but they are completely sold out. not just the ad, the entire country, not a single one left . . . |

The big problem on Blancpain are the very fine movements. To make them extra thin, they work with extremely fine parts. So they are prone to damage. |
