Okay so I'm trying to source the articulated rubber bracelet for my JLC Navy Seals (new or used). I went to one AD and asked another one per referral and it seems no one is willing to budge too much on a discount?

I know I shouldn't mope around or expect a discount but considering the list on the bracelet is 2410  could not resist to ask for one. From what I've heard this bracelet is hands down in so many words... bomb.

So my question is maybe could be for Breitling or other companies, is the margin pretty slim on accessories that ADs cannot really chop some off the top?

I've never had much of any luck getting any discount on accessories not purchased when the watch itself was purchased. The low margin aspect was the explanation that dealers have always given me.

In the late 90's I bought my first Breitling, got 30% off but could not afford the bracelet - a month later, I bought it from a different vendor & got 30% of as well. It was a Navitimer - Snowbird Edition & Pilot Bracelet - they didn't have a Navitimer Bracelet yet at that time. By the way, I still think that bracelet is way nicer than the one on my current Navitimer or on the newer stuff as well!

Cheers,

Enezdez

The argument for smaller discounts on accessories is that the dollar margin is lower (same % margin) so less room to move given that there still has to be some kind of profit as well as the contribution to all of the store's fixed costs.

When the bracelet is a couple of thousand dollars plus that argument doesn't hold as much water, but I suspect that they have 'standard' policies for accessories discounts.

Yeah I'd figured it would be something like that Roff. Guess you gotta pay to play.

Hands down the best bracelet ever, I loved that bracelet. Did you try Govbergs? Don't know if they can discount but its worth a shot.

Actually I haven't. Still sleeping on it. Thanks for the idea Serge.
