Had this a week and I must say I can feel and see the quality in this watch, there's so much Sapphire in the Crystal it it has shade's of bluesy purple streaming off it, the glass feels as smooth as silk and the sapphire bezel is of equal quality. It's breeding and history have swooned me and I had to have one, other watches aside it blows Rolex and the AP Diver out of the water.

Anyway some pic's.

I love watches with black dials classic and timeless + i can see the time with the contrasting hands.

The Lume is out of this world and even glows during overcast days, we get a lot of them in the UK. My photography skills can not capture the true brightness of the lume.

The strap is plain and simple Sail Cloth

I love the history with this watch and the fact that it came out in 1953 a full year before the Sub in 1954, and was in service with the french, German and a few other Military dive teams throughout the world. I love my Breitlings for other reasons and i have had Rolex and AP But this just blows me away, so understated and simple. sorry for sounding like a kid with a new toy, but I feel like a kid with a new toy.

Congrats, I've tried one on a few times, very beautiful piece, more than pictures can evoke.

Beautiful watch, congrats. I just saw one in an AD's display case and it really stood out in person.

Excellent pick up. Personally I love this piece but I'm still on the fence with the way the bezel turns. I might have to have another feel session. But in terms of looks, IMO one of the best looking divers ever made.

I like the external threaded strap retainers too. This would be even better as a chrono, but thats not to say that its not a great looking divers watch. I agree with others here, its probably one of the best Divers I have seen. Wow.

its a great looking piece and the craftsmanship of it seems to be superb. never really played with it too much, but at 45 mm dial i think that its a bit more watch then my wrist can handle. I know the lugs are shorter so it might work.

congrats on a very nice time piece.

The short lugs do make a difference Adrian. My wrists are 7 1/4 but when I tried one on it doesn't even wear like a 45mm. It really is a beautiful piece.

Don't kill me but can't help saying that it looks much nicer than Sub C.

Hey it's a Blancpain made by one watchmaker on one bench from start to finish! I do wish it had a better bracelet option. I tried one put on the bracelet and it just didn't work. That lead to the Breguet. Ah, those were the days. ;)

Thanks Guys I am really chuffed, the lugs measure 23mm but you can squeeze on a 24mm strap, I also bought the strap changing tool, straps are held in place with 2 hexagon threaded tubes and 2 hexagon screws, you get the rubber strap and 4 extra tubes and screws a case and whats in the picture.

I tried several strap combinations but came back to the sail cloth nothing else kind of works, I have not looked at a bracelet option, but they do have a leather Croc @ £350 without buckle
