Dear Members, I am wondering if I dare ask for your opinion on the watch maker / house Junghans I believe they are a German company does anyone have any views good or bad. I relies that radio controlled might be a dirty word so I am hoping you won't be offended and I know that they make automatic and manual movements as well Kind regards W.W. |

Nice enough watches, relatively unknown outside of Europe. I tend to find the designs run either excessively 'classic' (read dull) or gimmicky (Aerius Chronoscope springs to mind). |

I had one of these a few years ago. Bought it in Hong Kong subway station shop. It had a build-in "Octopus" chip which is a hugely popular contact less payment system in Hong Kong used on subways, buses, coffee shops, convenience stores like 7-11, etc.... Most people use a credit card sized Octopus card which they keep in their wallet/purse but one can easily buy a watch with it built in and Junghans is one of the available brands. Just swipe the watch over the reader and "beep", payment made. The thought has crossed my mind to build one into one of my Breitlings ![]() |
