And very specific. Short and sweet.

Would you guys trade a Yachtmaster for a JLC Master Compressor Diving Navy Seals? Would potentially be an even trade. More opinions the better. Time is of the essence.

Thanks guys. :crazychanger:

I'll admit that my advice will be biased, as I'm no Rolex fan. However, looking at this in the most objective way I possibly can, I would still personally trade for the JLC. I think it's a far more interesting piece than the Yachtmaster.

I haven't looked into what the resale value is of each piece, but since you're considering it, I'm assuming they're in the same ballpark.

Hopefully some Rolex guys will provide some input as well.

JLC for me too. More interesting, as bozman put it. I love JLC as a brand.

I'll probably be the only one to say not me, I'd stick with the Yachtmaster.
To me it looks neater than the JLC.

the JLC is larger 40 v 42 than the Rolex...and i think thicker, too.

The retail on the YM is higher than the JLC NSD. But as far as Rolex holding their value, my observations over the years suggest that it is simply not the case for the YM. I do consider a little bit of value retention when making a purchase because I've become so unpredictable over the years but it's not always "the" factor. But let's just say that when I bought the YM, it was already IMO depreciated as possible so I would not be taking a huge hit on this trade.

Lately my tastes have taken a turn similar to Benjamin Button. I started off with vintage, then I became for awhile obsessed with two-tone, and now it's become utilitarian and contemporary, with bigger in size.

I do like my YM but lately I've been feeling I haven't been able to give the love it needs... to be worn on the wrist. I own a business where it's a very active environment and I find myself annoyed taking my YM on and off the wrist when need be. And we all know where a watch is loved the most.

Absolutely! Price differential aside, that JLC is amazing.

No, not unless its the Navy Seal Alarm, the standard NS is kinda blah to me. However, the NSA is in another league!!

Well if it doesn't get the wrist time it deserves and the JLC will...then the simple answer is yes.

Late to the party, personally would say keep the Yacht but based on your comments a couple of posts above I'd say get the JLC. So long as both are preowned I suspect you would not take too big a hit later on if you wanted to do something else. Sounds to me like you're looking for a change and if you change your mind later there are plenty of Yachtmasters out there.
